The number of duels has been increasing in Fascist Italy. Yesterday or the day before, Mussolini’s brother Arnoldo challenged some general. Today, Luigi de Alfonso, honorary consul-general of the Fascist militia, which is a rather odd title, fights former under-secretary to the Ministry of Posts and Telegraphs Giuseppe Caradonna with sabers, getting rather slashed up.

Love that they fought each other with sabers instead of pistols! Where did the sabers come from? They must have been purely ceremonial by that time. Were they trained in saber fighting or just saber rattling?
