Secretary of State Frank Kellogg says Mexico’s crackdown on the Catholic Church has affected no American citizens or property protected by treaty rights, so there’s no reason for the US to intervene.

Philippines Governor Gen. Leonard Wood vetoes a bill passed by the Philippine Legislature for a plebiscite on Philippine independence, saying the Lege doesn’t have that power.
